Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of dog handling. This role is essential in maintaining the health and well-being of the animals in our care while providing exceptional service to pet owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will work closely with various breeds of dogs, ensuring their comfort and safety in a kennel environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and walking.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the kennel area, including cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures or grooming sessions as needed.
- Support dog training initiatives by reinforcing basic commands and positive behavior.
- Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all animals in the facility.
Requirements
- Previous experience in kennel work or animal care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong skills in dog handling and animal restraint techniques are highly valued.
- Knowledge of basic veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
- Must be able to lift moderate weights and be on your feet for extended periods.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
