Summary
We are seeking an organized and reliable full-time Payroll Administrator to oversee in-house payroll operations at our headquarters in Gardena. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant weekly payroll checks and reports while ensuring the integrity of timekeeping and pay data. The ideal candidate for the role will be reconciling paper and electronic time records, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with managers and Human Resources to maintain consistent payroll practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for all employees in accordance with established payroll schedules and internal controls.
- Review, validate, and enter paper timecards and electronic timekeeping records into Foundation software to ensure complete and accurate payroll input.
- Reconcile timekeeping data across manual and electronic systems, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues before payroll finalization.
- Analyze payroll exceptions, investigate pay-related variances, and coordinate timely corrections to minimize payroll errors and rework.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records, supporting documentation, and audit trails in accordance with recordkeeping standards.
- Partner with managers, employees, and Human Resources to resolve timekeeping questions, pay issues, and payroll-related inquiries in a responsive and professional manner.
- Prepare payroll reports, support internal or external audits, and provide payroll data needed for compliance and operational review.
Experience
- At least 5 years of payroll processing experience required; 7 or more years preferred, ideally in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.
- Experience working with both paper-based and electronic timekeeping records.
Skills
- Ability to handle multi-location payroll processing on a weekly basis.
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems, including Foundation or similar platforms.
- Capability to meet strict weekly payroll deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and standard payroll recordkeeping practices.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and apply sound judgment in resolving payroll exceptions.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel for reviewing, managing, and reporting payroll-related data accurately.
- Effective organizational, communication, and time management skills, with a high level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
