Position Overview
The Production Finisher / Paint Technician is responsible for preparing, finishing, and inspecting products throughout the production process. This position works closely with the finishing team to ensure products meet company quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in painting, woodworking, cabinetry, manufacturing, automotive paint, or industrial finishing.
Key ResponsibilitiesSurface Preparation
- Sand, clean, and prepare products for finishing
- Inspect materials and identify defects before processing
- Apply fillers, sealers, primers, and stains as required
Finishing Operations
- Operate spray equipment, sanders, and production tools
- Apply paints, stains, topcoats, and specialty finishes
- Mix coatings according to product specifications
- Monitor finish quality and make adjustments as needed
- Perform touch-ups and corrective finishing
Quality Control
- Inspect finished products for color consistency and finish quality
- Identify and communicate quality concerns
- Ensure products meet company standards before shipment
Production Support
- Move materials safely throughout the facility
- Load and unload products as required
- Complete work orders, production logs, and quality documentation
- Maintain daily production goals and schedules
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures
- Wear required PPE and respiratory protection
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Properly handle paints, stains, and finishing materials
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow written instructions and work orders
Preferred
- Experience in painting, finishing, woodworking, cabinetry, manufacturing, or production environments
- Experience with spray equipment and spray booths
- Familiarity with stains, paints, lacquers, and topcoats
- Knowledge of quality control procedures
