Hunt Engineering Company (HEC) is looking for a team member for the Survey Services group in Malvern, PA. HEC’s Survey Services Department provides services for various clients in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland; our typical projects include utility infrastructure, airport, transportation, cargo terminals, and government funded site and building improvement projects. Our typical project work includes topographic, utility, boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title and bathymetric surveys.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Care for and maintain field equipment and assigned vehicle
- Complete daily reports of field activities, vehicle logs and other required paperwork.
- Lead two (2) and/or three (3) person field crews.
- Communicate with clients and the public at large during field surveying activities.
- Plan the daily activities of the crew on the job site.
- Has the knowledge necessary to operate surveying instruments and measuring devices (tape measure, total station, level and/or GPS) needed to complete different types of field survey work assignments. Provides training and guidance to instrument operators on the same.
Qualifications
Prior land surveying work experience as a survey crew chief is required for this position; individuals that exhibit a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will be given high preference.
The work environment is 100% outdoors; therefore, the position requires individuals willing to work in changing weather conditions (hot/cold and or wet/dry). Worksite locations vary greatly from urban areas within the Philadelphia region to undeveloped sites throughout the tristate region. Occasional overnight travel is a requirement of the position
Other job requirements:
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Ability to stand and/or walk during entire workday; ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and supplies.
- Must have reliable transportation to office.
- Must have a safety mindset.
- Exhibit team attitude and work well with others.
Successful candidates will hold a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, be able to pass security clearances through the TSA and FBI and complete a background check.
