The Corinth Central School District is thrilled to announce an opening for a Special Education Teacher to lead a brand-new, innovative high school program. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and structured educator to work collaboratively with the Corinth special education team and community to build a strong, dynamic special class. This program is specifically designed for high school students (grades 9-12) who are eligible for the New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA) and require a blended curriculum focusing on both foundational academic skills and vital functional/life skills. Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage the diverse academic, functional, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team—including therapists, administrators, and families—to ensure comprehensive support for every student.
- Self driven to work with a team to build a unique and holistic program for students.
Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Certification:
- Preferred: K-12 Special Education OR Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12).
- Also Considered: Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6) or other valid NYS Special Education certifications.
Experience: Proven experience teaching students with a variety of complex disabilities, particularly those tracking toward alternate assessments.
Social-Emotional Expertise: Strong background or experience with social-emotional strategies preferred.
- Mindset: A strong willingness and ability to embrace new challenges, bring fresh ideas to the table, and operate as an integral part of a collaborative team.
Pay per CTA contract.
Pay: From $48,893.00 per year
