THRYVE of Crestwood is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Admissions to join our team.
The Director of Admissions is responsible for managing the referral and admission process to ensure smooth transitions from hospitals, communities, and other care settings into the facility. This role serves as the communication hub between departments and plays a key part in census development, customer satisfaction, and positioning the facility as a leader in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.
Admissions & Referral Management
Receive, review, and process referrals promptly, responding to referral sources within 30 minutes when possible.
Coordinate clinical and financial reviews with appropriate departments.
Obtain leadership approval for denials and document decisions in the CRM.
Prepare and distribute admission notices, admission packets, and required documentation.
Ensure all rooms are admission-ready daily by 10:00 AM.
Verify payer sources, Medicare coverage, and admission eligibility requirements.
Enter and update admission information accurately in PCC.
Customer Experience
Greet new residents and families upon arrival and provide an orientation to the facility.
Ensure resident rooms are properly prepared and compatible with potential roommates.
Oversee unpacking, labeling, and proper storage of resident belongings.
Ensure nursing staff greet new residents within 30 minutes of admission.
Conduct 24-hour follow-up calls to assess resident and family satisfaction.
Assist with room changes and special requests to enhance the resident experience.
Staff & Team Communication
Provide staff with pre-admission notifications and communicate anticipated resident needs.
Communicate daily regarding anticipated admissions, discharges, and re-admissions.
Participate in daily huddles, morning meetings, Medicare meetings, QA meetings, and census calls.
Train backup staff on admissions processes, facility tours, and professional phone etiquette.
Marketing & Census Development
Conduct or delegate facility tours, ensuring prospective residents and families are assisted without delay.
Support census development by maintaining strong relationships with referral sources.
Assist with hospital-based visits in the absence of the hospital liaison.
Maintain marketing materials and ensure the admissions office remains tour-ready.
Document and share resident success stories following positive discharges.
Attend quarterly marketing meetings and organize or participate in quarterly community events.
Experience in healthcare, human services, marketing, admissions, or census development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Team-oriented with a positive, enthusiastic approach to work.
Professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
Participation in professional organizations and continuing education preferred.
