Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, ensuring their dignity and comfort are prioritized.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems accurately and efficiently.
- Administer medications accurately and timely.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support.
- Assist with medical documentation, ensuring all patient records are complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare standards such as HIPAA.
- Participate in infection control practices using aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across diverse clinical environments including ICU, emergency medicine, and long-term care facilities.
- Light housekeeping such as sweeping, disinfecting bathrooms, dishwashing, and laundry.
- Meal preparation and ensuring meals are attuned to resident's diets such as diabetes and low sodium.
- Doing fun activities with them such as playing games, setting up arts and crafts stations, going on walks, watching movies.
- Scheduling transportation for events.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a CNA or in a healthcare setting is highly preferred; experience in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care is especially valuable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Synkwise enhances your ability to document patient information effectively.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities demonstrates your ability to adapt care strategies appropriately.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is required along with Orientation & Safety, 70 hour LTC Worker Basic Training, Specialty Training in Dementia, Mental Health, and Developmental Disabilities, Nurse Delegation Core and Special Focus on Diabetes, Food Handling and Safety.
- Online background check and Fingerprint Background check must be done and cleared.
- TB Test must be done within 3 days of hire.
