We are seeking a dedicated caregiver to join our collaborative care team supporting a young man with special needs. He is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum; while he can present challenges, he is also a person who finds great joy in the outdoors and long, peaceful drives.

The Role
You will provide vital support by assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), ensuring safety, and fostering a nurturing environment. This is not just a "sitter" position; you will be an active participant in his care plan, helping him navigate his daily routine with dignity and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Care: Assist with ADLs, including dressing, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Safety & Monitoring: Vigilantly monitor for seizure activity and document observations accurately.
- Engagement: Facilitate outdoor activities and provide transportation for drives.
- Household Support: Maintain a clean, organized living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
- Emergency Response: Administer first aid as required and follow established seizure protocols.
- Collaboration: Adhere strictly to the established care plan and communicate effectively with the family and team.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional caregiver experience (experience with autism or seizure disorders is a significant plus).
- Reliability: Must be highly punctual and dependable.
- Compliance: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes daytime, overnights, and weekends.
Job Details & Compensation
- Pay: $20.00 per hour.
- Hours: Approximately 24-30 hours per week.
- Schedule: Shifts include daytime, overnight, and rotating weekends.
- Location: Private residence in Longview, Texas.
