Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Hydraulic/Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including construction machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and transportation vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our ongoing operations and customer service excellence. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, and HVAC components across various heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, air brake inspections, and general equipment servicing to maximize operational uptime.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Test repaired equipment through heavy lifting operations or functional testing to verify proper operation before returning it to service.
- Maintain detailed service records including repair logs, inspection reports, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary for troubleshooting or testing purposes while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics such as electrical systems troubleshooting, schematics reading, and automotive diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems repair and troubleshooting along with familiarity with schematics for complex machinery.
- Ability to perform welding, fabrication, soldering, tire service, brake repair, suspension work, and HVAC repairs efficiently.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and power lifting devices for heavy lifting tasks.
- Knowledge of OEM standards for diesel engine repair including Caterpillar or similar brands; experience with construction machinery servicing is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
- Valid certifications in diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, electrical systems or related fields are advantageous; relevant training in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
