The Endoscopy technician will work with the registered nurses and is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the patient by practicing proper aseptic technique and using a good working knowledge of the procedure by anticipating the Endoscopist's needs in performing the procedure. Must be willing to travel to other locations: Riverdale(main), Annapolis, Columbia.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists the physician with endoscopic procedures
- Assists with ensuring the center is properly prepared for the daily schedule
- Sterilization of equipment and high-level disinfection
- Cleaning the surgical suite between cases
- Opening of sterile packs, instruments, and supplies. Ensuring a clean environment is maintained throughout the procedure.
- Preparing for the set-up of all procedure cases.
- Ensuring surgeon identifies and describes surgical specimen prior to its placement in the specimen jar.
- Reporting and troubleshooting of all broken or defective supplies or equipment.
- Checking and restocking the center.
- Operates and maintain documentation for Medivator + Autoclave
- Assesses the condition of all equipment, instruments, and accessories on a daily basis and reports any irregularities to the Nurse Manager.
- Coordinates rooms and scopes according to daily schedule.
- Properly disposes of contaminated waste following Standard Precautions and OSHA regulations.
- Takes an active role for identifying issues for quality improvement.
MUST have BLS certification.

Experience:
- GI scope reprocessing: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
