Position Summary: The individual selected for this position will assume all duties of Maintenance Mechanic at our Protein Conversion facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Must be able to work well with others, communication with others, and have good decision-making ability.
-
Desire to be part of a proactive, motivated maintenance team.
-
Individual will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of machines in the Maintenance Dept.
-
Individual will be trained to do other jobs in the department.
-
Must be able to lift 85 lbs. and be able to work at high heights.
-
Must be able to do administrative duties and records, ie (P.M’s, logs, etc.)
-
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and humidity.
-
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and possibly have to work different shifts (day, evening, or night).

Must be willing to travel to other locations for projects.
-
Must be willing to get pipe certification in welding.
-
Prefer at least two years’ experience. Must complete a successful background check.

Other duties as directed.
Basic Skills and Qualifications:-
Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
-
Skills in mechanics, welding, and electrical fields is preferred. Must have mechanical ability, mechanical experience is preferred.

Ability to apply common sense.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
-
Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees).
-
Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.

Ability to multitask and work quickly.
-
Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)

Must have good communication skills.
-
Good hand and eye coordination required.

Food or production experience preferred.
