Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet and interact with customers
- Oversee and coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery activities performed by warehouse personnel
- Manage paper flow and safety programs
- Complete customer orders by loading and unloading products as needed
- Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse
- Assemble products and displays
- Regularly drive a vehicle to make deliveries and visit worksites, other businesses, or customer locations
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.)
- Dispense propane and/or kerosene (complete training in first 30 days of employment)
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Maintain general upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area
- Serve as a safety liaison between personnel and management
- Develop positive work relationships with other staff; collaborate, communicate well, and effectively relay information
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3)+ years’ directly supervising personnel or equivalent internal retail experience
- At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license (or 18 with a valid commercial driver’s license) to operate a commercial motor vehicle (10,001 lbs. GVWR); maintain a safe and insurable driving record
- Able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Any combination of education, training, or experience providing the required knowledge and skills, with an emphasis on correctly calculating figures and amounts
- Commitment to excellence and high standards, especially in providing outstanding customer service
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, and kneel frequently
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and load up to 60 pounds
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse and/or retail setting
- Product knowledge in one or more of: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden, or wild bird supplies
- Experience safely dispensing propane cylinders and operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
Schedule
Full-time, in-person, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
$18.15 – $24.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
