Duties
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments and patient evaluations to determine hearing needs and appropriate solutions.
- Perform hearing aid fitting and programming using advanced hearing aid fitting software and hearing aid programming tools.
- Manage patient intake processes, including medical history review, medical software documentation, and coordination with healthcare providers when necessary.
- Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, ensuring optimal device performance and patient comfort.
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining treatment options, answering questions, and offering ongoing support throughout the hearing health journey.
- Utilize patient management software and EMR/EHR systems to document assessments, fittings, and follow-up care meticulously.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals on hearing assessments involving physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and pediatrics when applicable.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinical audiology principles, including hearing assessments and physiology fundamentals.
- Proficiency in hearing aid fitting software, hearing aid programming, and medical equipment operation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding, and EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented mindset to ensure positive patient experiences.
- Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and manage patient care effectively using patient management software.
- Knowledge of occupational health standards related to audiology practices and medical software applications like NOAH or similar platforms.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics; ability to handle intake procedures confidently while maintaining high standards of patient service.
