Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced In-Home Caregiver or Personal Care Assistant to support a client in Sarasota. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living in accordance with the client’s established plan of care, including personal care, companionship, conversation, and light housekeeping.
The initial schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., two to four days per week. The client is seeking one primary caregiver who can provide consistent, long-term support. Hours are expected to increase once we find the right fit.
The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, responsible, friendly, and experienced in caregiving. Applicants who live in or near Sarasota are preferred.
You must be able to pass a LEVEL II Background check

Responsibilities
- Provide non-medical personal support and companionship services in accordance with the client’s plan of care.
- Perform domestic and household tasks (light housekeeping/meal preparation)
- Transport and accompany patients to doctors office or to hospital
- Assist in administering/reminding simple prescribed medications
- Assist with clients personal care activities
- Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc.) and report on their condition
- Maintain patients care records and document provided services
- Assist patients with mobility and physical therapies/exercises (non-clinical)
- Instruct and counsel patients and families on diet and exercise
- Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
Skills
- Proven working experience as home health aide/homemaker and companion caregiver
- Ability to monitor vital signs
- Ability to assist with non-medical activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
- Ability to follow a non-medical plan of care
- Experience providing companionship and safety supervision
- Ability to assist with mobility and transfers (non-clinical)
- Proficiency in English
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Caring, compassionate, and dependable personality
- CPR certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- First Aid training preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
