Pay Rate Min $19.50 to Max $23.50
Summary: The Yard Driver is responsible for moving trailers in a safe manner to and from dock, hull trailers. The Yard Driver also performs sanitation and maintenance on equipment and surrounding areas and ensures the yard tractor is properly maintained and cleaned per OEM requirements to minimize downtime. This position will require you to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and assist with any other duties assigned by the Farmer Stock Manager or other management.

Monitors Hull Trailers and oil stock trailer

Inspects trailers before loading (hoppers, tarps, lights, etc.)

Works with supervisors when a trailer is needed to be spotted at shipping docks or relocated to drop area.

Moves and relocates trailers when full and replaces with empty trailer

Weighs trailers, documents weight, and communicates weights as needed

Drives truck to destination

Inspects the truck for defects before and after trips and submits a report indicating the truck's condition

Assists workers in loading and unloading trucks

Communicates, both verbal and written

Adheres to OSHA and DOT regulations

Performs LOTO and other SOP's

Daily Sanitation requires compressed air, shovels, and brooms

Qualifications
Must have a CDL or have possessed a CDL (or have 2 years of experience operating a yard spotter)

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two years’ experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This job requires climbing an 18ft ladder multiple times a shift and every shift scheduled. This job requires the employee to be exposed to outside weather conditions.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
