Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Remodeling Designer/Estimator to join our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and estimation process for residential and commercial remodeling projects, transforming client visions into detailed plans and accurate cost proposals. Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their remodeling goals, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Develop comprehensive design concepts that align with client needs, utilizing tools like 2020 Design, Bluebeam and other software for detailed drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate project estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and site conditions using estimating and other construction software.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, including pricing materials, labor, and subcontractor services, ensuring competitive yet profitable proposals.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage project budgets and control costs throughout the remodeling process by monitoring expenses and adjusting estimates as needed.
- Coordinate with construction management teams on-site to ensure designs are feasible and projects adhere to timelines and budgets.
- Review construction contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Support project management efforts by providing detailed estimates for bidding processes and assisting in scheduling planning.
Skills
- Knowledge and experience in kitchen cabinetry designs and bathroom designs
- Proficiency in 2020 design, Bluebeam Revu, google sheets, gantt chart or similar tools for detailed plan review and collaboration.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts, pricing agreements, and vendor relationships.
- Experience with bidding or comparable construction estimating software for accurate bid preparation.
- In-depth knowledge of construction estimating techniques, cost control methods, and pricing strategies.
- Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of building processes and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
- Familiarity with construction management principles, project management practices, and contract administration.
