Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Audio-Video Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in aiding the worship experience. This role is intended to support the worship and music of the congregation, with a focus on audio and video preparation and presentation, to engage the church community in meaningful experiences with God and others.
This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires a commitment of 10-15 hours per week, which includes attending weekly worship services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Under the direction of the Director of Music Ministries, facilitate the setup and takedown of sound equipment and the operation of audio and video systems. Arrange microphones and audio channels in advance of each worship service or event.
2. Facilitate audio mixing and audio/video recording during worship, funerals, weddings, and other church and community events, along with necessary rehearsals.
3. Oversee video presentations (especially via Microsoft PowerPoint). Train and assist slideshow volunteers for worship services.
4. Prepare and provide for video streaming and recording of worship services and, as needed, of funerals and weddings. Train and assist streaming volunteers as needed.
5. Create weekly outlines for the sequence of camera shots for streaming volunteers. Program new camera shots as needed.
6. Assemble recordings for the weekly worship radio broadcast and transmit the final weekly audio file to the broadcasting radio station.
7. Oversee maintenance of church sound and video equipment. Assure that the Sanctuary’s hearing loop and hearing-assistance devices are functioning properly. Field questions and concerns about audio-video needs.
8. Facilitate the setup, takedown, and operation of sound equipment for Chapel on the Lakes during the summer.
9. Attend meetings as an active participant of the Worship & Music Team.
10. Attend staff meetings when requested.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of audio and video production.
- Weekly availability to work Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for production and other late-week/weekend times as needed for preparation.
- Excellent interpersonal, relational, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to preparation.
- Proficiency with computer technology and software, including Microsoft Office programs. Additional technology and/or network experience is a plus.
- Sharp attention to detail.
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
