KingPost Design & Construction is seeking experienced carpenters to join our team constructing luxury coastal homes throughout the Cape Fear region. We are a boutique design-build firm specializing in architecturally significant residences built to endure generations.
We are looking for craftsmen who take pride in precision framing, fine finish carpentry, and solving complex construction challenges.

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide construction activities.
- Perform and oversee framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, siding, stucco application, and roofing tasks with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment to execute complex carpentry tasks.
- Coordinate tasks and schedules with subcontractors and vendors
- Manage on-site logistics including heavy lifting, scaffolding setup, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and durability.
- Assist with construction estimating and material procurement to optimize project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards specific to coastal construction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential construction with a focus on custom coastal or high end homebuilding
- Extensive carpentry skills including framing, trim work, millwork and cabinetry
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings related to construction projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in demanding environments.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems integration and HVAC systems is beneficial.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams effectively
- Valid driver’s license; Clean driving and police record
