Duties
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of licensed therapists, utilizing manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other modalities.
- Assist with patient assessments by preparing treatment areas, positioning patients, and supporting clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Document all client interactions, treatment progress, and clinical assessments accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, occupational therapists, and nurses—to coordinate care plans and discharge strategies.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain procedures, answer questions, and promote active participation in therapy programs.
- Support discharge planning efforts by providing detailed notes on client progress and recommending ongoing care needs for outpatient or home health services.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units or home health environments; inpatient or acute care experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation standards and medical documentation practices.
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely and manage electronic health records efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and clients requiring discharge planning or skilled nursing care.

Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
