Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning personal spaces and common areas.
- Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations, medication records, and incident reports to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, or autism support is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status promptly.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
