Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.
- Handle incoming calls, directing them to appropriate staff or departments.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical coding and documentation as needed.
- Maintain organized patient records and ensure accuracy in data entry.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care.
- Perform general clerical duties including filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar clerical role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong knowledge of medical scheduling processes and medical coding practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office software.
