The Position:
This role is instrumental in designing, developing and optimizing manufacturing systems to enhance the organization’s proprietary equipments’ quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in establishing a system of continuous improvement with the goal of maximizing manufacturing efficiency to meet the highest industry standard.
Location: Dallas, Texas
This position is found in our Engineering Department and reports directly to our Engineering Manager.
Team size: You will work as a part of our Engineering Department which includes three Mechanical Engineers led by the Engineering Manager.
International Connections:
Due to the global structure of our group of companies, there is regular coordination with international locations, in particular with Germany and the Netherlands. Project work often takes place in intercultural teams.
Your Essential Tasks:
· Designs systems and components within the organization’s catalog
· Creates Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing drawings
· Coordinates with the Controls’ Team for effective design and integration
· Implements a system of drawing standards across the product line
· Works with Supply Chain to standardize major components within defined categories
· Evaluates the product’s overall performance, safety and reliability.
· Participates in pre-sale process testing to identify requirements and develop process-specific to our customers’ needs. Designs process-specific solutions as required.
· Participates in machine run-offs; ensures that designs are followed, and discrepancies are resolved.
· Oversee a process of change orders; verify that process is well-documented and adhered to.
· Supports the Design Team in new product development initiatives, providing analysis of costs and design efficiencies.
Your Profile:
REQUIRED
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
· Minimum of five years’ experience in Manufacturing/Engineered to Order Manufacturing Environment with strong preference for Discrete Manufacturing
· Proven Experience designing machinery in the food industry or transferable field
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Advance knowledge in AutoCAD Inventor
· Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D designs
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Proven ability to analyze and solve problems
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Availability to travel both domestically and internationally
PREFERRED
· Six Sigma Green Belt or experience in a lean manufacturing environment
