Position: Live-In Direct Support Professional (DSP)

OHI is seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team and provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities. As a Live-In DSP, you will play an important role in empowering the people we support to make informed choices, set personal goals, and achieve greater independence.
As a DSP, you will encourage, motivate, and inspire individuals to live fulfilling lives while providing the support they need to reach their goals.
- Teaching daily living, communication, and employment-related skills
- Supporting participation in community activities and events
- Providing behavioral support and redirection as needed
- Administering medications
- Transporting individuals to appointments and other necessary destinations
- Promoting independence, self-advocacy, and personal growth
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Demonstrate the ability to support individuals with disabilities
- Have strong teaching, crisis-prevention, and intervention skills
- Be able to work a flexible schedule
- Hold a valid Maine driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for most direct support positions
- Be approved as an OHI driver
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
DSPs must obtain and maintain the following certifications, preferably within the first 30 days of employment:
- Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- PACT Certification
- Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certification (as applicable)
Employees must also:
- Be medically cleared and fit-tested for an N95 respirator
- Maintain required vaccinations and immunizations
OHI provides all required training and certifications and pays new employees while they complete them. Training opportunities include:

- OHI operates on a 12-hour base schedule
- Starting Pay: $17.00- $17.50 per hour
