Position Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Nursing partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily clinical operations of the nursing department.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the leadership, supervision, and development of nursing staff.
- Help recruit, interview, onboard, and retain qualified nursing personnel.
- Ensure quality resident care is delivered consistently on all shifts.
- Monitor compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
- Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation.
- Support staffing coordination, scheduling, and daily nursing assignments.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Assist in preparing for state surveys and maintaining survey readiness.
- Monitor infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility.
- Investigate incidents, concerns, and resident complaints, implementing corrective actions when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, department managers, residents, and family members to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
- Serve as the Director of Nursing in their absence.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Missouri.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in skilled nursing or long-term care.
- Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, and long-term care standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications.
