American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and trauma ED experience for a night shift travel assignment at a Level 2 Trauma Center in St. Louis, MO.

Hospital respiratory therapy department serving patients across all areas of the facility, including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma units

767-licensed-bed Level 2 Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
-
Patient population includes adult respiratory, critical care, and trauma patients; pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transferred to a sister facility
-
Patient ratios are based on a point system and dependent on staffing
-
Equipment includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilator, V60 BiPAP, Bellavista (incoming), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow

EMR: Epic

Night shift, 3x12, 18:30–07:00

Weekend and call requirements as determined by the facility

Floating required as determined by the facility

13-week assignment

RRT license; active Missouri Board for Respiratory Care licensure required if applicable
-
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory therapy

Adult critical care experience required
-
High-volume, busy ED with trauma experience required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
-
PALS preferred
-
Preferred skills include blood gas draws, blood gas processing on GEM, and blood gas interpretation
-
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Provide respiratory therapy services to patients across multiple units including critical care, cardiovascular, neurological, and emergency departments

Strong time management skills and willingness to collaborate with team members are valued

Black scrubs required; Mercy standard scrubs must be black
-
Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
-
Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
-
Local candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
-
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility who have completed 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this location must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
