EPG Controls, Inc an Inc 5000 company, is a leader in South Florida in the development and manufacturing of custom control panels and low- and medium-voltage switchgear for Emergency Power.
Position Description:
- Design switchgear controls and control panels in accordance with customer specifications, internal specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Ensure projects are designed and built to applicable UL and ANSI standards.
- Select components, create bills of materials, and CAD drawings that meet customer requirements and internal standards for production/manufacturing processes.
- Reduce component material and labor cost through new designs and processes; provide technical support to assembly personnel.
- Create vendor purchase orders and follow up on delivery.
- Provide the selection and setting of protective relays and controllers.
- Improve process flow to reduce labor hours, facilitate achievement of the Master Production Schedule, and reduce work-in-process inventory.
- Write PLC programs to meet project functional requirements.
- Write operator interface (HMI) programs for system control and metering.
- Write operating sequences. Assist in creating project submittals and O&M Manuals.
- Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
- Create test procedures and programs as required.
Qualifications to include :
- US Citizenship or permanent resident.
- Already residing in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
- BS degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical or Mechanical) required.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills required
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Ability to multitask.
- Willingness to work long hours and learn.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for interpreting customer requirements from customer drawings, bills of materials, and other documents. Specify design and components. Create bills of materials and CAD drawings that meet customer requirements. Create internal standards for production/manufacturing processes. Support the pre-sales, proposal, and prototype process through final product deliverables.
