We are a growing remote CPA firm serving med spas, dentists, medical practices, and other owner-operated businesses. We provide accounting, tax, and advisory services with a strong focus on systems, efficiency, and AI.
We're looking for a Senior Tax & Client Accountant who can own client relationships from clean financials through completed tax returns. This is not a tax-preparation-only role. You'll become the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of business clients, ensuring their books are accurate, their returns are prepared correctly, and accounting issues are identified before they become tax issues.
We don't believe in papering over accounting issues with journal entries. We build accurate financials that help clients make better business decisions and lead to better tax outcomes. We take the time to understand each client's business so the books tell the right story—not just the tax return.
If you're coming from a traditional CPA firm and looking for a place where technology helps you serve clients better—not just bill more hours—we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do
- Own a portfolio of business clients from monthly accounting through tax return delivery
- Prepare and review business and individual tax returns (1120-S, 1120, 1065, and 1040)
- Review, reconcile, and correct client financials so they are accurate, tax-ready, and useful for business decisions
- Identify accounting issues before they become tax issues
- Work directly with business owners to gather information, answer questions, and resolve open items
- Support tax planning and advisory conversations
- Review work prepared by junior accountants and offshore staff
- Use AI and modern technology to improve quality, efficiency, and client service
- Manage your own client workload and deadlines with minimal oversight
Who We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience in a public accounting / CPA firm
- Experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns
- Experience managing multiple business-owner clients simultaneously in a public accounting or CPA firm (not a single in-house accounting role)
- Comfortable fixing the underlying books—not just preparing the tax return
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience (Xero is a plus)
- Comfortable leading client conversations by phone and video
- Naturally takes ownership and follows through without constant direction
- Interested in AI, automation, and improving how work gets done
- CPA or EA preferred, but not required
AI & Technology
We believe AI makes great accountants even better. We use AI to eliminate repetitive work so we can spend more time analyzing financials, advising clients, and delivering a better client experience. We're looking for someone who is already experimenting with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar and is excited to improve how work gets done while maintaining professional judgment. You should be able to describe a real workflow, prompt, or process you've built that saved meaningful time or improved quality.
Compensation & Schedule
- $85,000–$105,000 depending on experience and ability
- Full-time
- Fully remote
Finalists will complete a paid one-week trial using an anonymized client file.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- What state do you live and work in?
- Walk me through a specific accounting or tax problem you solved faster or better because of AI. What was the problem, what tool did you use, and what was the outcome?
- You're reviewing a client's books and notice net income is negative $16,000 for the month, but revenue was $130,000. Walk us through how you would determine whether the issue is the accounting or the business itself.
- Describe the messiest set of books you've inherited before preparing a business tax return. What was wrong, what did you fix, and what changes did you make so the books would be accurate going forward?
