The ideal candidate for this position will:
Be a devout Catholic committed to furthering the mission of Catholic education through personal witness and professional performance.
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in an approved program in Education offered by an institute of higher education (IHE).
Hold currently valid Michigan teacher certification for the grade level/content area that they desire to teach.
Hold catechist formation certification as directed by the Department of Evangelization, and Missionary Discipleship. Certification from another diocese will be reviewed during the application process.
Be able to fulfill the daily duties of student supervision, instruction according to Archdiocesan Curriculum Standards, and evaluation of student performance.
Be able to meet any other local requirements pertinent to the available teaching position.
Adhere to the expectations established by the building principal and the Archdiocese of Detroit Pastoral Code of Conduct.
The position could be open to a candidate that holds a Bachelor's degree in a non-education background, with a willingness to learn classroom management and work with an educational coach.
