The Right Slice has been making award-winning pies on Kauai since 2009. We're a locally owned specialty pie shop with a loyal customer base, a strong team culture, and employees who often stay with us for years.
We love hiring from our local community, and because of the early morning schedule, candidates from Omao through Waimea often find this position works especially well. We do not accept applications from outside of this area.
We're looking for an experienced baker who takes pride in consistency, works well independently, and enjoys being part of a small team where everyone contributes.
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with baking experience who can confidently follow recipes, manage production, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced kitchen.
The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, takes pride in staying organized, and understands that consistency is just as important as creativity in a professional bakery. Experience with commercial or production baking is highly valued.
We're a small, tight-knit team—some of our staff have been with us for more than 10 years—so finding the right fit matters. We're looking for someone interested in building a long-term career with a consistent schedule, opportunities for growth, and a workplace that values quality, teamwork, and reliability.
Schedule
- Saturday through Wednesday (Thursday & Friday off)
- 5:00 AM start time
- 30–40 hours per week
- Occasional flexibility appreciated for vacation or sick-day coverage
- Monthly all-staff cleaning night on the 15th
What You'll Do
- Prepare and bake pies, crusts, fillings, and other bakery items
- Follow recipes and production systems with consistency and attention to detail
- Create daily production lists and monitor inventory levels
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
- Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed
- Help ensure every product leaving our kitchen meets The Right Slice standards
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of baking experience required
- Commercial kitchen or production baking experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

- Starting pay of $25 per hour during training
- Compensation will be reviewed upon successful completion of training. Based on performance, skills, and responsibilities, pay may increase to $25–$30 per hour.
