The Neuroscience Institute (NI) within the Mellon College of Science is an interdisciplinary research and education center dedicated to advancing the understanding of the brain through neuroscience, artificial intelligence, psychology, engineering, and computational science. The institute brings together researchers, faculty, and students to study cognition, behavior, brain health, and neural technology while translating discoveries into real-world applications and treatments.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Pitkow Lab.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop computational methods for constructing and interpreting computational dynamics.
- Designing and extending algorithms grounded in probabilistic machine learning
- Applying statistical techniques to assess robustness and generalization.
- Development of methods of research, testing and data collection, analysis and evaluation, and writing reports which contain descriptive, analytical and evaluative content.

Qualifications:
- PhD in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Extensive experience with algorithms and machine learning
- Experience in and with statistics
- Graduate level research experience
- A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered .
