Job Title: Event Security Guard
Reports To: Security Lead, Security Supervisors, Safety + Security Manager

Rate: $21/hr, event based schedule (part time)
Position Summary:
The Event Security Guard position covers a range of post positions that require coverage for each event. Some positions include: Voms, Security Screening, Patron Checkers, Line Management, Posts, and Traffic Management. The employee is generally responsible for assisting in safeguarding personnel and property of the Theatre and its guests during events. This position is the first onsite point of contact for patrons of the Paramount Theatre. As an ambassador of the organization, this person is expected to provide superior service. The person is also responsible for communicating with the Security Lead onduty, and monitoring and reporting safety incidents including theft/loss, access control violations, alarms, fire and life safety emergencies, medical emergencies, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
- Screens guests during entry via bag searching, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification as needed
- Directs patrons outside and/or inside the venue
- Demonstrates an understanding of PTA policies, procedures and regulations
- Initiates a genuine, friendly and personal greeting to our guests as they arrive at the facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location and a sincere thanks as you complete your encounter with each guest.
- Provides guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.
- Assists with the completion of event setup/teardown
- Conducts patrol rounds of the building perimeter and interiors during and after events
- Ensures safety of patrons and staff crossing from parking garage to Theatre entrances
- Promotes a positive image of the Theatre for the client and patrons
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21-years-old
- Familiarity with industry standards, rules and regulations and ability to communicate them with security staff
- Good verbal and written communications
- Possess interpersonal skills and ability to use diplomacy and tact in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
- Ability to work effectively with the public, anticipating and defusing disputes, behaviors or situations and achieving positive outcomes
- Excellent customer service skills
- Possess ability to follow through on job duties and priorities
- Must exhibit a professional demeanor
- Experience in the event industry a big plus
- Trained Crowd Manager Certification a big plus
- Security Guard Card a big plus
Working Conditions/Environment
- Must be able to stand for several hours during show performances
- Must be able to walk up various stairs to monitor security within the Theatre
