Overview
Join our team as a Lead AV Installation Technician and play a key role in delivering high-quality commercial audio-visual installations across diverse client environments. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee installation projects in the field, lead technicians through successful project execution, and ensure systems are installed accurately, safely, and according to signal flow, architectural drawings, and project specifications. Duties
- Lead and coordinate commercial AV installation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality delivery.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems including displays, projectors, sound systems, video conferencing platforms, control systems, and related hardware.
- Build and install systems based on signal flow, schematics, wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, and technical manuals.
- Perform cable pulling, rack building, cable management, terminations, device mounting, and structural accommodations or modifications as needed.
- Manage low-voltage wiring and telecommunications connections in accordance with industry standards and safety requirements.
- Supervise and support other technicians on job sites, assign tasks, communicate field updates, and help ensure successful project delivery.
- Track installation schedules, identify site condition issues, and adjust plans proactively to keep projects on track.
- Conduct service visits, diagnose system issues, perform maintenance, and resolve problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Communicate clearly with leadership, project managers, clients, and team members regarding status, issues, and next steps.
Skills
- Minimum 4 years of commercial AV installation experience.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, cable pulling, rack building, cable management, and AV device installation.
- Experience with various terminations including RJ45, DB9, captive screw, solder, and similar connection types.
- Ability to read and interpret signal flow, schematics, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques for AV and control systems.
- Mechanical aptitude for mounting hardware, enclosures, and structural supports.
- Working knowledge of software troubleshooting, computer hardware setup, and integrated AV system configuration.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in field environments.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or lead a team on-site.
- Valid driver's license required; ability and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
