Duties

Implement classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment conducive to active participation.

Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback.

Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, including copy editing, proofreading, and understanding AP style and the Chicago Manual of Style.

Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in professional development focused on linguistics, journalism, and instructional strategies.

Support students’ social-emotional growth through behavior management techniques and personalized academic advising.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field; Master’s preferred.

Prior classroom experience teaching middle school students in diverse settings; private school experience is a plus.
