Job Summary
Jen Katt Immigration Law Group, PLLC is seeking a passionate, experienced, and highly motivated part time Immigration Attorney to support our growing legal team in a remote capacity. This position is ideal for an attorney who is available on an as-needed basis to conduct client consultations, provide legal guidance, and represent clients before USCIS and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) when required.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling both affirmative and defensive immigration matters and be comfortable appearing at USCIS interviews, EOIR hearings, and other immigration-related proceedings. We are looking for someone compassionate, professional, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to immigrant advocacy and client-centered representation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct immigration consultations and evaluate clients' eligibility for available immigration benefits and relief.
- Provide legal analysis and recommendations based on clients' immigration histories and circumstances.
- Represent clients before USCIS and EOIR, including attending interviews, hearings, and other proceedings as needed.
- Appear at Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, Bond Hearings, and other immigration court proceedings when assigned.
- Review case files and provide legal guidance to the firm's staff regarding case strategy and preparation.
- Prepare and review legal documents, motions, briefs, declarations, and supporting evidence when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their cases and legal options.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable ethical and professional standards.
- Stay informed of changes in immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active U.S. Bar license in good standing required.
- Minimum 2 years of immigration law experience preferred.
- Experience appearing before USCIS and EOIR strongly preferred.
- Removal defense experience preferred.
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments efficiently.
- Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
- Hourly compensation based on consultations conducted, court appearances, USCIS appearances, and other assigned legal services.
