Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute-care environment, assess changes in patient condition, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to cardiac emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric telemetry patients in a fast-paced acute-care environment.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and promptly identify and respond to acute changes in condition.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and accurately interpret rhythm strips and dysrhythmias.
- Pass the required EKG/rhythm-strip competency test during orientation.
- Initiate, maintain, and monitor cardiac drips such as amiodarone, Cardizem, and dobutamine according to facility protocols.
- Respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies and collaborate with Rapid Response and interdisciplinary teams when needed.
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs and provide central-line care and management.
- Administer blood products and perform required monitoring and documentation.
- Provide tracheostomy care and management, with Respiratory Therapy support available as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Recent telemetry experience required and must be reflected in work history
- ICU-only experience does not meet the telemetry requirement
- Strong rhythm-strip interpretation skills
- Must pass an EKG/rhythm-strip test during orientation
- BLS and ACLS required
- Must have an Illinois RN license in hand
Pay: $1,650.00 - $1,750.00 per week
