Hours: Fulltime (0.9 FTE, 72 hours per biweekly pay period including every third weekend) – Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with 30-minute meal break

Floyd County Medical Center is seeking experienced obstetrical nurses to join our team!
Position Overview: The Obstetrical Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the safe and effective care of perinatal, postpartum and infants. Exhibit knowledge and competency in nursing care of the ante-partum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery settings. Provide nursing care and treatment of obstetrical patients and infants based on the nursing process using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Accept responsibility for the care, treatment, and delivery of the obstetrical and newborn patient. Responsible for practicing and maintaining obstetrical policies, procedures, and standards. Provide obstetrical and newborn health education to all patients. Interact with nursing staff, physicians, providers, and other departments to ensure that the obstetrical patient and newborn’s needs are met. Use critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding obstetrical and newborn care.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
- Minimum of associate’s degree in nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in labor and delivery.
- Experience in postpartum and newborn care preferred.
