Gilson Inspection Services, a division of Gilson Housing Partners, provides trusted housing solutions nationwide. We partner with Housing Authorities to ensure residential properties meet Public Housing Quality Standards (PHQS) and comply with all applicable local housing codes.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Section 8 Housing Inspector in Cincinnati, OH. This is a field-based role ideal for individuals with inspection, housing, or property management experience who enjoy working independently while contributing to safe and compliant communities.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) inspections of residential units.
- Inspect multiple units within the same building or complex.
- Verify compliance with HQS and applicable local housing regulations.
- Use our digital inspection software to document findings (training provided).
- Communicate professionally with tenants, property staff, and housing authority personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports and document required corrections.
Compensation:
- $12 per full inspection
- $7 for no-shows and re-inspections
Mileage Reimbursement
Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between assigned inspection locations during the workday.
Mileage is calculated from the first assigned inspection location to the last assigned inspection location of the day. Mileage from your home to the first inspection location and from the last inspection location back to your home is not included in the mileage reimbursement.
Requirements
- Experience in housing inspections, property management, or a related field is preferred. ( not required)
- Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and current vehicle insurance are required.
- Comfortable using mobile apps and basic computer tools
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow housing regulations and inspection standards.
- Must be able to pass a background check and mandatory drug test.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
- Good communication skills
