Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices and the ability to also drive lift trucks in the warehouse as necessary.
Duties
- Safely maneuver tractor-trailers and other vehicles within the yard.
- Load and unload trailers as necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and deliveries.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate loading and unloading schedules.
- Operate manual transmission vehicles as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on duty.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
