Cranemasters is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Field Operations Supervisor to lead and manage field crews supporting derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment/transfer, and track maintenance and construction projects.
This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining high-quality standards, and delivering exceptional service to railroad customers and regulatory stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assign daily work to field crews
- Lead safety briefings and enforce PPE, FRA, DOT, and company standards
- Oversee project execution, including hands-on work and equipment operation
- Maintain strong communication with customers and regulatory agencies
- Submit accurate payroll, equipment usage, and project reports
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members
- Prepare job quotes (labor, equipment, logistics)
- Monitor and maintain equipment readiness
Skills/Qualifications
- 2+ years railroad industry experience
- Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and safety regulations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and reporting systems
- Valid driver’s license (CDL A or B preferred)
- Experience operating heavy equipment (cranes, excavators, etc.)
- Ability to read load charts and understand rigging practices
Physical Requirements
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Frequent travel with overnight stays
- Physically demanding (lifting, walking on uneven terrain, extended hours)
