We are seeking a skilled EDM Machinist to join our precision machining team. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-precision aerospace and industrial components in an ISO 9001 and NADCAP-certified environment. We welcome both experienced EDM operators and motivated individuals with machining experience who are eager to develop specialized EDM skills through on-the-job training.
Essential Function(s) of the Position:
- Follow detailed instructions to operate a sinker EDM machine to complete assigned jobs under very high tolerance and quality requirements.
- Perform machine set-ups.
- Perform program editing at the machine.
- Complete job documentation as required.
- Optimize EDM processes and productivity.
- Inspect completed parts for machining accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and operation functionality of the assigned machines.
- Interpret blueprints to the extent inspection can be performed satisfactorily.
- Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or work tables.
- Understand basic inspection tools such as mic’s, calipers, Indicators, sine plates, cylinder squares, surface plate use, gage pins, gage blocks, etc.
- Must be proficient with or able to quickly grasp tolerance requirements. GD&T proficiency preferred.
- Work within and maintain the integrity of the ISO-9001 and NADCAP certified quality system requirements.
- Maintains a safe work environment and operates within OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen; part of a pool for random drug screens as regulated by the FAA on an ongoing basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required; Machinist Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
- Ability to edit programs on EDM machinery preferred but not required.
- Ability to set up jobs.
- Ability to quality check own work using standard quality measurement tools.
- Blueprint reading ability and good to advanced knowledge of GD&T.
- Understanding of manufacturing production principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills.
- Able to work well within a team environment.
- Ability to learn company specific EDM operation techniques.
- Self-motivated with a strong interest in fostering continuous improvement and high quality.
- Hard checking skills utilizing basic measurement tools; A quality mindset.
- Tool calibration ability.
THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION WITH A START TIME OF ANYWHERE FROM 5:30 am - 7:00 AM. CURRENTLY RUNNING 8 - 10 HOUR WORK DAY WITH OCCASIONAL 1/2 DAY ON SATURDAYS.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN. THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG SCREENS AT THE FAA REQUIRMENT LEVEL.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
