About this position
Terminal Security Solutions is hiring part-time Customer Service Officers at the Port of Cape Canaveral. You will work in a maritime cruise terminal, checking credentials and providing customer service to passengers, crew members, and staff — all within a federally regulated port environment.
No security experience needed. If you don't yet have a Class D Security License, TSS will enroll you in the required 40-hour state licensing course at no cost to you. You start earning at $17.00/hr and move to $18.65/hr as soon as your credentials are verified.
What you'll do on the job
- Check TWIC cards, passports, driver's licenses, and company IDs at entry points
- Monitor gates, doors, and restricted areas
- Communicate via two-way radio and write daily activity and incident reports
- Assist passengers, crew, vendors, and staff professionally
- Report any safety or security concerns to your supervisor
- Protect Sensitive Security Information (SSI)

Obtain your TWIC card or TWIC enrollment receipt
This is required before anything else can move forward. You must have an active TWIC card or an official TWIC enrollment receipt to be registered for the free Class D course. Local enrollment is available at:

Required before interview3
Complete your in-person interview
You must complete an in-person interview before being registered for the Class D course. Bring your TWIC card or TWIC receipt plus two forms of valid ID to your interview. No interview, no course enrollment — no exceptions.

Attend the free 40-hour Class D licensing course
Once your interview is complete and your TWIC is confirmed, you'll be enrolled in the state-required Class D Security Officer Licensing Course at no cost.

Start working and receive your pay increase
After your Class D is verified alongside your active TWIC, you move immediately to $18.65/hr as a Credentialed Security Officer.

Attendance is mandatory for all five days, full hours — no exceptions. Missing any portion will result in removal from the course.
Already have your Class D license?
This course is only for candidates who do not yet have an active Class D Security License. If you already hold both an active TWIC and an active Class D Security License, skip the course entirely and text Susan Morris at 321-290-6804 with your full legal name and copies of both credentials.
Minimum requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active TWIC card or official TWIC enrollment receipt
- Available weekends and holidays — Saturdays and Sundays are required
- Able to attend all five days of the July 20–24 course, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm daily
- Must pass state and federal background checks and pre-employment drug screening
- Fluent English — written and spoken
Law enforcement, military, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

Physical requirements: Standing or sitting for 8+ hours, indoor and outdoor work in varying weather, walking through terminal areas, lifting up to 20 lbs, visually inspecting IDs and monitors.
