The Security Guard patrols the hotel and grounds and responds to security and emergency situations. Promptly handles emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Part-time weekends for day and evening shifts.
- 1 or more years of related experience or schooling preferred.
- New York State security guard license required.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or willing to obtain certification).
- Clean and valid New York State Driver License preferred.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Refined verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain the highest level of safety and security for guests and employees.
- Patrol hotel areas including surrounding grounds and parking lots via property walks and video surveillance. Address any unusual circumstances, safety violations or accidents and injuries.
- Maintain constant emergency readiness. Respond immediately to all emergency alarms and calls for assistance covering a variety of concerns. Determine course of action and notify appropriate management and/or authorities as needed.
- Conduct investigations of security incidents and complete required forms.
- Assist hotel operations with guest requests. Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Transport guests in hotel shuttle van as needed.
- Report to work when scheduled and in proper uniform.
- Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.
- Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
- Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.
