At Pittsburgh Paints Company in Huron, OH, you’ll be the hands-on expert turning raw materials into high‑performing coatings. As our Coatings Batch and Dispersion Technician, you’ll spend each shift moving between dispersion, thindown, in‑process quality checks, and precise batch adjustments—keeping production on spec, on time, and safe.
- Begin in a PSM (Process Safety Management) area handling solvents and solvent‑borne materials, confirming PPE and permits.
- Review production instructions, stage ingredients, and operate mixing/processing equipment to build batches in the right order and amounts.
- Use forklifts and material handling tools to move raw materials and finished intermediates safely and efficiently.
- Monitor temperatures, mix times, and speeds; record accurate data and make directed adjustments to color, viscosity, or strength.
- Transfer materials between tanks/vessels using pumps and transfer hoses; strain as required using designated systems.
- Complete quality checks, document results, and collaborate with teammates to resolve variances.
- Starting pay: $22.61/hr. plus $1.00/hr. shift premium
- Shift: 3rd shift, 9p–7a Sunday night thru Wednesday night/Thursday am
- Overtime: Possible OT daily and Friday/Saturday
- Bonus: SIGN ON BONUS OF $1,000

- 1–3 years in manufacturing/production preferred and comfort in fast‑paced operations.
- Baseline computer skills; willingness to learn production and inventory systems.
- Precise documentation habits and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Accurate color/shade differentiation; strong attention to detail and problem‑solving.
- Team-first mindset with a safety and quality focus; completion of required training.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Climb ladders and stairs; stand for extended periods; move over/under/around equipment.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting hoses, manipulating valves, operating/adjusting equipment, stacking pallets, and carrying materials.
- Lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
- Manufacturing equipment; strainer systems, pumps, and holding vessels
- Forklifts and material handling equipment
- Computers and scanning equipment
- Manufacturing facility processing water‑borne and solvent‑based materials
- Fast‑paced production setting with required PPE: FR uniform, safety glasses, gloves, and steeltoe footwear
- You should be proficient in: Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
