Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Part-Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our outpatient cardiology practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced provider—or a motivated new graduate with a strong interest in cardiology—to work alongside an experienced cardiologist in a collaborative, supportive environment.
The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional cardiovascular care while building lasting relationships with patients.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected Hours: Approximately 16–24 hours per week
License/Certification:
- New Jersey Physician Assistant License (Required)
- NCCPA Certification (Required)
Experience:
- Cardiology: Preferred
- Internal Medicine: Preferred
- New graduates with a strong interest in cardiology are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and established cardiology patients in the outpatient setting
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Manage common cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, and laboratory studies
- Educate patients on medications, disease management, and heart-healthy lifestyle modifications
- Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic medical record
- Coordinate care with referring physicians and other healthcare providers
- Participate in follow-up care and chronic disease management
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New Jersey Physician Assistant license
- NCCPA Certification
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Current BLS certification
Preferred
- Prior experience in Cardiology or Internal Medicine
- Ability to interpret ECGs and basic cardiac diagnostic testing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and clinical decision-making abilities
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
Schedule
- Part-time (2–3 days per week; schedule flexible)
