Duties
- Assist with food preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including measuring, mixing, and portioning as directed
- Support catering events by preparing food items and setting up serving stations
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with menu planning, food handling, and basic cooking techniques
- Experience working in food service environments such as restaurants or catering is advantageous
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meal preparation methods are a plus
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning new culinary skills
