Department of Planning and Permitting, Building Division is hiring a
Building Inspector Aid. In this role, you will assist experienced inspectors in reviewing buildings and structures for compliance with Building, Housing, and Zoning Codes. You’ll help inspect construction work against approved plans, investigate basic complaints and code violations, and gain hands-on experience learning City codes and ordinances. This position also involves traveling to inspection sites and supporting the team in ensuring safe and compliant structures across the community.
What You Will Do:-
Assist higher-level inspectors in investigating and inspecting buildings and structures for fire, health, and safety hazards, structural issues, inadequate exits, maintenance problems, or compliance with the Building Code during occupancy changes.

Compute and approve room capacities for assembly areas based on occupancy requirements.

Inspect care facilities, schools, and other buildings for code compliance.

Draft inspection reports and letters using computer systems.

Perform other related duties as needed.
