Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dietary Manager to join our team. As a Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and delivery of nutritious meals to our residents. Your role will involve managing the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents
- Plan and organize food production based on dietary requirements and preferences
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of meals
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans for residents with specific dietary needs
- Provide health coaching to residents on proper nutrition and dietary habits
- Conduct patient assessments to identify individual dietary requirements
- Oversee the implementation of therapeutic diets as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Manage food service staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of human physiology and nutrition principles
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in developing care plans based on diagnostic evaluations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to provide health coaching to individuals or groups
- Experience in patient assessment and developing individualized dietary plans
- Familiarity with assisted living regulations and guidelines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management
