Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman to join our hospitality team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of guest areas and hotel facilities. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
- Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for yourself and colleagues
- Conduct floor care activities such as vacuuming, mopping, waxing, and polishing to maintain impeccable flooring standards
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving furniture, supplies, or equipment in accordance with manual handling safety protocols
- Support hotel housekeeping management by restocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and ensuring sanitation standards are met throughout the property
- Respond promptly to guest requests or special needs with excellent customer service skills, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
- Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently, including safety protocols and evacuation plans, to maintain a secure environment for guests and staff
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial roles within hospitality settings
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and industrial cleaning methods
- Skilled in the use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to SDS guidelines and chemical handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all occupants
