Job Summary
The New Hampshire Ice Hockey Officials Association is currently looking to add qualified officials for this coming season. Our chapter is responsible for scheduling officials for boys’ and girls’ high school and prep school hockey at both the varsity and junior varsity levels. Games are scheduled on all days of the week and range anywhere from early afternoon to evening starts during the week and from morning through evening on the weekends. School vacations provide even more variability in game times. This game schedule offers incredible flexibility to work with almost any personal/work schedules for members.
Duties
- Work cohesively as part of an officiating crew.
- Maintain game safety and integrity.
- Enforce all rules and standards with strong, consistent rule book knowledge and confident application during gameplay.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with coaches, players, partners, and game staff.
- Handle conflict and escalation with composure.
- Participate in ongoing development.
Experience
It is expected that those who are applying for membership have ice hockey officiating experience. That experience should include having officiated 50-100 games, with 75+ being optimal.
New Hampshire boasts some of the best prep hockey in the country and offers a great training ground for any officials looking to take the next step in their officiating career. Our chapter takes pride in our ability to develop officials by providing personalized feedback tailored to their specific officiating goals. Our membership includes officials that have experience working games at the National level for USA Hockey, Division III and Division I College levels, as well as the ECHL and AHL levels.
Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
