Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with heavy trucks and various types of machinery. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition to support our operations.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, buses, RV's, excavators, and forklifts.
- Conduct diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Repair or replace components such as transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics and suspension systems.
- Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repair and enhancement.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Assist with tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, alignment adjustments, and other mechanical tasks as required.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with heavy equipment operation including forklifts and industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair processes and techniques.
- Experience with electrical systems in vehicles is preferred; soldering skills are a plus.
- Ability to read schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Previous experience working in a dealership setting is advantageous.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in all tasks performed.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
